How to Quickly Filter Businesses Scraped from Google Maps

With Cloud Sync and Manage Businesses, you can push the businesses scraped by the plugin to the cloud for centralized management. But not all scraped businesses are your targets. So before any follow-up action, efficient filtering is critical.

Product page: Google Maps Scraper ยท Overview

1. Create a Filter Viewโ€‹

A View is a powerful dynamic filter. Once you create a view and define its filter rules, every scraped business that matches the rules gets auto-classified into the view.

tip

We'll use creating a view called "US - Beauty Supply Stores" as an example โ€” to filter businesses categorized as Beauty supply store.

Step โ€” On the Google Maps Customer Search page, click Create New View in the top right, enter the view name, and submit.

Create New View dialog โ€” view name "US - Beauty Supply Stores", Confirm button

View actions โ€” Hover over a view to Set as Default / Unpin / Rename / Delete and more.

FAQโ€‹

Q1 ยท What's the difference between search and filter?โ€‹

  • Search โ€” A one-shot action that looks through all current data.
  • View filter โ€” A persistent rule that filters existing data and also auto-classifies any future matching data.

Q2 ยท Can I combine multiple conditions?โ€‹

Yes. Add multiple filter conditions and set the logic between them (AND / OR) to build a precise target customer profile. For example, filter for "in the US" AND "category contains restaurant".

Practical Tipsโ€‹

    1. Start simple โ€” Get comfortable with single-condition views first. For example, create dedicated views for your main target countries or core product categories.
    1. Use logical operators well โ€” For finer targeting, combine conditions: AND narrows the scope, OR broadens it.
    1. Review views regularly โ€” As your business evolves, adjust existing views or create new ones to stay aligned with current market strategy.
