If this is your first time using Laifaxin and you don't know where to start, remember this one sentence:

Run this main flow and your lead generation becomes automated. Below we walk through it in 4 chapters, each linked to a detailed article.

1. Find Customersโ€‹

Finding customers comes in two scenarios:

  1. You have a typical customer โ†’ use the URL to find similar
  2. You don't have any target customers yet โ†’ use AI Inference to find audience clusters

Pick the method that matches your situation.


1. With a Customer: Use One Customer to Find a Batchโ€‹

For example, you already have a typical customer site: saturnrafts.com โ€” use it to find similar customers ๐Ÿ‘‡

  • โ‘  Open AI Database, enter the customer URL in the top search box.
  • โ‘ก Click the ๐Ÿ” Search button on the right.
  • โ‘ข The system matches a large number of similar companies based on the website's content.

2. No Customer: Use AI Inference to Find Audience Clustersโ€‹

If you don't have any seed customer URL ๐Ÿ‘‡

  • โ‘  Open AI Database โ†’ click the AI Inference button to the right of the top search box.
  • โ‘ก In the popup, enter your product (e.g., inflatable rafts), click โ†’ AI Smart Generate.
  • โ‘ข Wait for cluster analysis โ†’ select a target cluster and click View Now.

The system recommends 4 target customer groups at a time, with reasoning for each recommendation.

Based on your product, judge which cluster is best for lead generation, then click View Now under the corresponding cluster.

The system auto-fills the cluster keywords and starts searching.

If you see a very precise customer in the results, click the Find Similar button on the right of each row to expand into more peer customers.

3. Sample Check: Lock in Precise Customersโ€‹

Search results may have thousands or tens of thousands of entries. Don't rush to save all of them โ€” first jump to the middle and back pages to sample the quality ๐Ÿ‘‡

  • For example, jump to page 997. If you find half the results aren't precise, that means relevance drops further back.

  • At this point, jump forward to page 500. If most of page 500 are target customers, you can save the first 500 pages of data first.

  • Current page 70%+ are target customers โ†’ this batch is worth saving
  • Current page is clearly imprecise โ†’ flip back to find a more precise save range

When data is too much to manually flip through, you can also use the system's AI scoring for more precise filtering.

2. Save Emailsโ€‹

After confirming customer precision, the next step is to save emails.

1. First-Time Customer Saveโ€‹

After sampling, take the first 500 pages of precise data as an example:

10 entries per page โ€” 500 pages โ†’ 5,000 customers

  • โ‘  In the search results, first randomly check any 1 customer.
  • โ‘ก Click the Advanced dropdown on the top left of the results list.
  • โ‘ข In "Select first [200] entries", change 200 to 5000, then click Save Contact.

The 200 / 5000 here is the limit on total rows to save, not page numbers! First 5,000 = rows 1 to 5,000.

๐ŸŒŸ Key Saving Point: Tag While Saving

Tagging is for classification management. When marketing later, you can quickly add this batch into a Smart Follow-up plan.

For example, if you tagged with Water Sports Retailers when saving, you can later batch-add customers by this tag into a follow-up plan.

After setup, click the Confirm Conversion button at the bottom right of the popup. The system starts saving contacts.

2. Check Save Resultsโ€‹

After submitting the save task, you can check progress at the top right of the page.

  • Once the task completes, open Contacts and filter by the tag you just set to find the saved contacts.

3. Build the Planโ€‹

After saving customers, you can start sending outreach emails.

Laifaxin has two common sending methods:

Why Smart Follow-up? Foreign trade lead generation usually isn't done after 1 email โ€” it needs sustained follow-up. You can set up multiple rounds in advance and let the system send on schedule.

For example:

  • Round 1: Send immediately after the customer is added to the plan
  • Round 2: Send 30 days later
  • Round 3: Send another 30 days later
  • Set 12 rounds in a row, covering the next 1 year

1. Create a New Planโ€‹

Open Smart Follow-up, click the + New Plan button on the top left of the page.

When choosing the sending channel, prefer the Premium Sending Channel (System channel is suitable for high-volume sending, stable, and doesn't affect your own mailbox reputation).

  • Set Plan Name: For your own reference, recommend clearly describing the customer group
  • Set Plan Time: Set per target customer's time zone, try to schedule within their working hours

After clicking Confirm, you enter the plan's Follow-up Flow page.

2. Add Follow-up Stepsโ€‹

One step = one round of marketing. Adding 3 steps = planning 3 rounds.

Emails are sent in step order. Each step sends to the same customer only once. Customers who don't reply get the next step automatically.

Click the + Add First Follow-up Step button in the center of the page.

Click + Add Follow-up Step below the Step 1 card to add round 2, round 3, etc.

Subsequent steps are similar to the first, with the difference in time setting. Example:

๐Ÿ’ก In plain English: Step 1 sends immediately; 30 days later if no reply, step 2 sends; and so on.

New user recommendation: Start with 3 rounds, run through the flow, then expand to 6 or 12 rounds.

3. Set Sending Rulesโ€‹

After follow-up steps are set, click the Advanced Rules tab at the top of the plan.

Advanced rules panel: Email tracking / sender nickname / reply email / send limit / single-domain limit / auto-stop on reply etc.

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: The most overlooked by new users are sender nickname and send limit.

  • Without a sender nickname, the sender name customers see may not look natural.
  • Without controlling send limits, you can easily over-contact the same batch of customers.

4. Add Customers + Activate Planโ€‹

Once the plan and steps are set, you can add contacts to the plan.

Recommended: Activate the plan first (click the top-right toggle), then click Add Customers. For new users, recommend Select by Tag for batch adding.

In the popup, select the contact tags to add to the plan. The system shows how many contacts that tag has. After confirming, click Confirm Add.

After adding, switch to the Customer List tab to see the contacts now in the plan.

4. Track Resultsโ€‹

After emails go out, learn to read the data ๐Ÿ‘‡

1. View Marketing Dataโ€‹

On the plan's Follow-up Flow page, you can see each step's data:

  • In Progress
  • Delivered
  • Bounced
  • Read
  • Clicked
  • Replied

2. Follow Up on Real Repliesโ€‹

If a customer replies, open Email to view. The system uses AI to roughly categorize emails, helping you prioritize important replies.
