Sohu Mail (@sohu.com free version / @vip.sohu.com VIP version). Binding to Laifaxin requires 2 mandatory steps:

Sohu free mailbox (@sohu.com) and paid VIP mailbox (@vip.sohu.com) use the same set of IMAP/SMTP servers — configuration flow is identical.
2. Get the Independent Password
1. Open Mailbox Settings
Log into Sohu Mail web → top Options dropdown → select Settings.

In Settings → click POP3/SMTP/IMAP tab:

System shows a verification popup → click Get verification code → enter the SMS code → confirm:
After verification, an Independent Password is generated:
The Independent Password is shown only once — once you close the popup, you can never see it again. Immediately copy and save to a password manager (1Password / Bitwarden).
If lost, your only option is to generate a new password — the original is invalidated.
3. Disable IP Whitelist (Important)
Disable IP whitelist, otherwise IP changes (home broadband / mobile network) will cause repeated connection failures.
Who actually needs to enable IP whitelist?
- ✅ You have a fixed public IP and understand IP range configuration (e.g. company dedicated line / server)
- ❌ Home broadband / mobile 4G/5G / WiFi — must disable
If you must enable IP whitelist, configure the allowed IP range:

Go to Laifaxin Email Account and add Sohu Mail:
